Thanks, everybody. The shutter speed was 1/1600 for this shot. That is usually not fast enough to freeze the wings. To get them really sharp, you need to use flash.

Nice one, sharp detail and color. We have a few that showed up at the feeders, but not up to full numbers yet. Might be our crazy spring has them messed up.

This morning I started up the computer and was greeted with a Bing wallpaper very similar to this one, same flowers and same species of hummingbird. It was an odd feeling, sort of de ja vue like.
