Photos NOT OK to edit
About a month before I moved away from Portland I was hired to take photos of Hunter Noack, an insanely talented pianist based in Portland Oregon. You can see a video of his here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oh-hN5P2uhQ

He was gifted a wardrobe of custom clothing and wanted me to photograph him in a few of his favorite outfits. We shot in a loft with large North facing windows, so I was able to use natural light with a reflector.
All were shot using a Canon 5D classic, and switching between a Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens and Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens.

I didn't include these in the initial post. They were delivered to the client, but in my opinion they don't stand up to the photos I shared initially. I'm not a fan of the lighting, and found that they were particularly difficult to color tone. They were shot using the available indoor overhead light bulbs in the library (non natural). Hunter insisted on shooting in the library; I love the concept, but think these particula shots would have looked so much better if we had a budget to rent strobes.

fantastic outfits.

images are okay too. :p

Holy Crap those are SWEET! That was one cool looking ugly sweater. I love you strategic use of DOF in a couple of those, very tasteful and artistic look to them. You both are extremely gifted to say the least.

Not only are these all incredible, but it also looks like you had a lot of fun! :)

Good photos, nice to see so many shots

These are just wonderful. They show so many different aspects of someone's life and are beautifully done. You were always good but your photos have become exceptional, outstanding work. I love this set, I could look at them all again.

edit - Have you ever taken a class or anything to get individual feedback from an instructor? Or a portfolio review, or anything like that where you'd get critique from an experienced professional? I'm just wondering because I found that to be a good way to get real life feedback to confirm if I was on the right track (and usually got confirmation about what I thought about my level of ability to eventually start getting photos accepted into juried exhibits.)

Nice! I love the green knit jacket, It goes well with his eyes.
Thank you. That was my favorite look from the shoot for sure. That being said, a Gucci jacket with sequins is pretty darn fabulous so I couldn't imagine it being easy to find something to outshine that piece lol.

Thank you so much! I had hoped the shallow depth of field my create a bokeh effect from some of the reflective sequins on that jacket (gosh I've mentioned those sequins 3 times now lol). The effect was more subtle than I'd hoped it might look.
