Here is one shot of what the hurricane did an old shack in the New Jersey State Park by my house

This is 3 exposures at 2 ev spacing with the middle exposure taken at f2.8 x 1/800

There is some slight ghosting of the trees but it was extremely windy

Let me know what you think

Maybe because it just looks like an old shack that fell down from old age. I had a garage that looked like that... Nothing here says hurricane. And, considering the title, that's a let down.

I won't even talk about the distortion from the SWA which annoys the hell out of me.

I'm in New Jersey...this was our first hurricane in almost 20 years. I thought the flooding might have been a little give away...sorry for the let down.

Extreme distortion and CA around the fringe of the trees. Would have been nice without both of these factors.

No need to be sorry, you're learning.

I was a PJ for a while so I look for the story and I didn't find it.

For example, you talk about flooding but I don't see any. I just see water which looks just like it does any other day of the year as far as I know... And there is your problem. You know the place but we don't and we don't know that it looks any different from yesterday.

Keep shooting, keep learning.

I think you did a really good job when it comes to framing this shot. There is a great deal of distortion on the trees, but at the same time it is your choice as the photographer. I actually enjoy the distortion because it adds an interesting look to the shot. The bending trees add to the feel of a hurricane being destructive and unreal. It looks as if the trees are collapsing on the subject, which appears to be the destroyed shed. Good work!

@josh
thanks, it's not my best work but it's the best i could do with the wind and trees swaying. if i waited for a day without wind the water would have gone back down so i had to try

@nifty

no...its a nikkor 10.5mm fish.

Flood or not, I like the image.
