**website has music** (blog doesn't)

I'm just sharing this woman's photography. She works up here in Alaska and is a self-taught photographer. I love her unique camera angles/croping as well as her use of mostly natural light photography.

I honestly don't understand people's hatred for music on portfolio sites. Some like music, and it's as easy as a single click to turn it off if you didn't.

I'm not an expert on wedding photography by any means, but I do like her work. I also enjoy pictures that use natural light for the most part.

I guess it depends on the music of choice for me. But I think I prefer to just look without music. When music is playing I don't like leaving the window open long so therefore I spend less time looking at the photos. I prefer to look at blogs instead because 1. They usually have a full history not just selected photos and 2. I can browse without quietly :).

I just turn off my speakers and than I can look .. lol I personally HATE music on web sites .. there are times I will goto a web site at 2am and all of a sudden I get blasted with music you know what I am talking about .. the ones where you have to check your shorts after the web page loads. lol

She's good, but I don't see anything unique or special. Pretty vanilla--the kind of photos you see used to sell picture frames at walmart.

Of course this conservative style is PERFECT for a wedding photographer who wants consistent business.

What I love about it is the candid-ness of it. Nothing is posed. She captures the moments. When I look at her pictures, I feel like I get a sense of the people in them. Sure they may not be the BEST technique-wise but to me that's not what matters most in photographing people.

A good portrait photographer does not pose the subject ... they place the subject in a preconceived position where "candid-ness" is possible ... then they capture it.

another of those bigoted sites ... access denied for us iPad users
