What's new

I got a lot to learn

I dont think I could ever do a wedding shoot. Mad props for going for it.

For the first pic the color tint does seem a little green but also i think that its a little under exposed also.

The ring picture is also good but for future shots it probably would have been better slightly higher maybe? seems like the ring could have almost been lost in their hands if you were any lower.

and lastly i really liked the one with the ladies. that was a great shot.

I think that you have great ideas and creativity. mostly i think you just need more time behind the lens in knowing your camera and proper editing :)

Is it still green? I re-edited and thought I had the color balanced. I agree with your assessment fully, I do need a lot more time behind the lens and some mentoring with editing would really help. Thanks for the feedback!

not bad for starting out in weddings, the hardest part about weddings is just being yourself and confident, if you can master the formal shots after the ceremony... the rest is a cakewalk, good job though, i agree with a few others good pics but might want to work on the color adjustment a little, maybe brighter, less saturation and little cooler

Thanks! :D

I would say just the opposite; other than the diffculty of "herding cats" to get the various important people where they need to be for the formals, they're just straight-forward shots. IMO, the most difficult is being where you need to be to get those 'money' shots, the tear at the bride's eye as she walks up the aisle, the look on her father's face as he gives her away, the signing of the register, boquet toss...

Well for this shoot at least the hardest part was trying to get a clear shot. I have dozens of frames with Iphones protruding in front of the lens, the room was small, hot and very crowded. We had prepared but then the setting was changed at last moment. I really couldn't do anything about the angle of view.

Thanks for the kind words, I really feel I have a lot of room for improvement.

I'm petrified of weddings, although I've thought about assisting just to see what it's like. Given your circumstances, they're not terrible. Just a question about your flash, were you diffusing it at all? It seems a little harsh in some of the shots.

Flash was bounced with card which worked ok in landscape, challenging in portrait to get enough light.

I would try a mini softbox next time, especially outdoors. It really helps soften on camera flash.

Thanks for the tip!

Next time, shoot even more frames =). 800 seems like very few for a wedding.

This is not bad at all. Don't be hard on yourself. Every photo at a wedding will NOT be a masterpiece. I think you did well.

Engagement party, a Vietnamese "Tea Ceremony" actually. The wedding is another day to come and I'll be sure to double that.

Thank you for the kind words, I am very self-critical but that's how I work, to ever improve.
