It's hard to even get TF work here and I can't afford to pay right now. Is there any other site beside modelmayhem because there is only like 2 pages of models and they never respond.:grumpy:

I'd also check Craigslist. It's not the best place but at least you have another option. :(

If you want to shoot pretty girls or fashopn, you may be stuck but, if your interest is portraits, a young pretty girl is far down the list for interest and worth.
It's like taking a picture of a flower; no matter how bad you do it, the flower will still be pretty.
To get better at portraits shoot regular people and make them look good.

Try some street photography

Check with the local college art class, they may have students or models they use for posing and can refer.

I have about 300 people in my town. I can't get cable internet so I use an air card- luckily I am only a couple miles from an interstate so I get good service. We don't even have a gas station, the next town over has about 700 and a couple gas stations. To go grocery shopping we have to go about 25 mins to the nearest "big" town which I think has maybe 20,000 people. I drive 38 miles to work to another "big" town with has about 15000. I know all about living in a small town, and the women around here I don't think any photographer could make look good.

move or get a really, really long lens.

I am not complaining, I chose to buy a house here because I like living out here. It's peaceful and I am willing to have to do a little driving to get places, I just wish that living in the middle of nowhere I was surrounded by woods rather that cornfields, a lot more interesting things to photograph. Oh yeah, then of course there is the ugly people thing, but I'll live with that... then again it makes me look that much better
