Its a strawberry hemangioma (http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/guide/red-birthmarks). They are common and harmless and disappear before the little ones grow up. My little one has one on his side. His brother thinks its elmo.:lmao:

Thank you! Basically, the red mark was attached to the placenta. It had no where to go after being separated, but blood vessels continued to grow and produce that disturbing red thing. Not even visible at birth, but at it's largest was about an inch in diameter and raised 1/4". It's flatted, faded and shrunk in the last few months and will continue to do so until there is nothing left but a flat, light pink spot.

Thanks. It's not hard to do, and I think I remember how to do it in GIMP. I did a terrible job on the right eye, I need to fix that.

Jess, my kids had them too and they have went away, but honestly, at first glance, I thought it was a piece of cereal and was giving a dual meaning to the grain.

Mostly it's just unfortunately placed in this particular frame, and made me think the kid had one nipple. A weirdly bright one at that!

Thanks. Her cousin also had one, right in the middle of her forehead but it's pretty much gone. They both were/are cavernous hemangiomas, which (looking at google images) can be much, much bigger.

Seriously, Andrew, it's hard to believe a man of your age can be so utterly,totally clueless about such a common medical condition. Your follow-up post, which I thought equally inappropriate as your first, made me wonder if that hat you wear isn't specifically used as a cover to keep the rain from falling into an empty bucket-like opening...

Anyway, back to jowens' picture: I think increasing the grain might look even better. Something that has some darker grain flecks sprinkled in would look much closer to film grain. I recently found a decent-looking set of film grain actions for Lightroom here: Presets - Lightroom 3 Grain « Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Killer Tips Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Killer Tips

I've tried riding my bike backward before too, only the brakes just lock up. Glad I'm not then only one this happens too.
