I took this in Bath and I like it. I am a newbie so I'm wondering about my assessment...

If you like it, then that is all that matters. If you are looking for insight on the technical aspect of the image, that is another matter. As Sparky has said, it looks crooked and from my perpsective, the background detail seems to be lost or fuzzy - not sure why - not that it seems to be out of focus, it just seems fuzzy...is there fog in the background? Also, the sky is blown out. From a compositional aspect, the line(s) below the row of windows across the middle seem to split the picture in half and this is not always a desirable thing. Check out the "rule of thirds" on the web. Hope this helps.

Crooked?
Where?
I look at the verticals close to the edge of the frame and look and look for any of them to be crooked and ... can't see it!?
The weather seems to have sported "overcast but bright skies", so you chose to get as little of it into your frame, as you could possibly manage without losing that church on the hill in the background, and I much appreciate your thinking. Sometimes you cannot help it, you WILL get blown-out skies, as they ARE that "blown" by the haze and light. So that is not my critique!

All in all this photo seems to lack in contrasts, and it'd definitely have more if it were mine, but then I am myself and you are you and you might like this pale style?

nice shot. I like it. Nice to see a tighter shot and not you trying to force getting every little thing in the frame. I would possibly mask off the background and pull down the blue saturation a bit to remove some of the haze. Perhaps adjust the levels afterwards to darken some blacks.

At first glance it does seem a little crooked but this is just an optical illusion - the verticals and horizontals are very close to where they should be, enough so it shouldn't look crooked. I kind of like the hazy background, since this is the way a distant background looks in reality and it also helps separate the background. The sky is flat, but the image could be cropped on top to remove most or all of the sky and would still work.

I like it , it makes the eye take in the whole scene. Looks like a cool place.
