I need a good professional powerful laptop

I didn't read the thread...however, you can usually find a really nice deal on Dell laptops through www.gotapex.com. They aren't a reseller, that site just tells you how to get the best deal on Dell's current sale systems.

I worked at Dell for about 3 years, they have very solid products, but like everyone in the computer business, their margin is made up on cheaper, and cheaper components, so get the best system you can afford WITH a 3-4 year complete care (accident protection) warranty.

However, my last piece of advice is...unless you can't avoid it, don't buy a laptop. You pay more for a fragile system that underperforms an equivalent desktop which costs much less.

Serious travellers and those people who do presentations at various places (most of whom are serious travellers) are just about the only ones who need a laptop these days.

I get by just fine with my Motorola Q, a USB Flash Drive (thumb drive) and PCs at home and in the office.
