I need a more powerful PC

Jeff, how much umph does your video card have? When working with large graphics files it's a good idea to get the fastest video card you can. Just a thought.

There is no such thing as the "fastest graphics card" according to Ps.
It uses GPU acceleration (OpenCL & OpenGL) in a few things only, and these features are fully supported by the internal CPU graphic cores since 3rd generation.
So, if you have Intel HD Graphics 4000 or 2500, it's ok.
There are much more important things: RAM, SSD, and CPU.

2.5 or 3.5ghz is just one of the aspect it is not necessary that 3.5ghz will be faster than a 2.5ghz processors.

These days all processors have multiple cores and threads.

A thread is a single line of commands that are getting processed, each application has at least one thread, most have multiples. A core is the physical hardware that works on the thread. In general a processor can only work on one thread per core, CPUs with hyper threading can work on up to two threads per core.

Other factors that contribute to the speed is GPU, RAM (both GB and speed), SSD etc.

Thanks to you all, I am now in the process of sorting it out..........:)
