I wish.. i could understand hipster.. He's what i would call in my high school days.. a 'Jock'.. His wardrobe consists of nothing but sweatpants and t-shirts that say "i hit your honor student so hard it dropped his GPA"

17 feet of... v8 gas drain... 0-60 in 10 days-ish.. ugly boat...

I can understand the Civic's, Scions.. etc. But this new 'craze' bugs me. I've talked to people in other states/areas and their kids are into 'granny-cruisers' too.

I don't get it.

I watch all the Fast and Furious and the new reality show about the boys from Oklahoma.

Yeah, I was going to say it might be something more particular to your region. Around here, all the boy racers are driving Honda Civics or GTIs with black hoods and rims or sound systems that cost more than the car did. And the funniest part are the spoilers. It's hard to roll my eyes and drive at the same time whenever I see one of those going down the road.

I get the hot hatches and the spoilers... In high school i had a 1986 VW GTI (anybody watch Top Gear last week... FLASH BACK!!)

I feel like a failure as a parent.. He was raised on the principles of power to weight ratio, German engineering and cars that start with 'M' - 'RS' - 'AMG'. I taught him to drive a stick before he even had his license!

I fear for our future...

They want to be known as having money .. thus a Lincoln, etc.
All good until the complex suspension fails and the car looks like it's dragging it's butt on the ground

we have that around here too, plus everything else.
There was some article in the local newspaper quite a bit ago about that trend too ..

suspension fails? I thought they did that on purpose (lowering). Talk about getting OLD, lol. (referring to myself)

putting money into it to lower the vehicle and all the hydralics is one thing

but those old stock suspensions, especially the lincolns apparently costs thousand and thousands of dollars to fix when they fail.
I recall reading that in the local article I mentioned .. i might go look for it .. but no idea on which newspaper or online or when it was.

Well okay then. Give me a break though, I an old Oklahoma redneck that drives a jacked up Jeep Wrangler 4x4 that's seen MUCH better days.

You see what happens is, the older cars are all the kids can afford, and its either make them "cool" or get beat up.
My high school parking lot also looked like a senior center I'm not saying how long ago that was, but its long enough to not be a trend

my first car while in college was a new 1987 Ford Escort GT
nice car. after too much street racing I dropped the trans. Got it repaired though and drove it alot.
not quite a GLH or GTI but still nice.
