Cadillac's, Lincoln's, Buick's.. When did 'a cool car' become huge & slow and smell like icy hot?

Our high school parking lot looks like a senior center parking lot

Interesting. Many kids my age (i'm 20) want fast little sports cars or big trucks. VERY few I know have "big-old-grampa" cars. Maybe it is a result of where you are located?

Yeah, I was going to say it might be something more particular to your region. Around here, all the boy racers are driving Honda Civics or GTIs with black hoods and rims or sound systems that cost more than the car did. And the funniest part are the spoilers. It's hard to roll my eyes and drive at the same time whenever I see one of those going down the road.

Driving old cars are cool to young people for the same reason using old cameras are cool.

Sure, they may be more difficult to use, and the result of your efforts is the same or worse, but you're, like, the only one who has one bro.

Those older cars are terribly unsafe. Not crumple zones, airbags, ABS etc... Just cause they are bigger doesn't mean they are safer.

I wish.. i could understand hipster.. He's what i would call in my high school days.. a 'Jock'.. His wardrobe consists of nothing but sweatpants and t-shirts that say "i hit your honor student so hard it dropped his GPA"

I can understand the Civic's, Scions.. etc. But this new 'craze' bugs me. I've talked to people in other states/areas and their kids are into 'granny-cruisers' too.
