Went to St George Island this week to get away on vaca and spend some time with my girlfriend. She kept getting mad because I wouldnt put my camera down. :lol:

Looks nice. Doesn't really look like a snap shot, which is good. I'd straighten the horizon, and maybe tried to get her face a little brighter in post. Other than that, I like it.

Also, noticed you're from Auburn, so, Roll Tide.

It's a pretty decent shot. The thing that stands out to me is that her face is in shadow. I'd like to be able to see it a bit better.

It took me too long to learn to pick the camera up. Can't stop now Haha. I'll toy with it a little more and see if I can get her face brightened a little more with out making it worse.

If you shot that with a modern Nikon d-slr in raw mode, there ought to be plenty of room for some digital fill light, to lighten up the face. It's a neat location you two were at! I love that little strip of water and that small, sandy beach. The rock jetyy is a visually interesting element, and the clouds were to die for.

I shot it with a newer full frame so I played with it again and tried to get her face a little more visible. Thanks for the feedback too derrel, ive received a lot of good advice and knowledge from you so your feedback is great news! let me know what you think of this or how else you could go about it. I tried to use the dodge tool to bring it out without making her look too yellow or red. she has a sunburn on her face so i didnt want to bring that out.

No, that looks dreadful.

I disagree about the put the camera away comment. This shot does a great job of capturing the person and the landscape. the lighting was on your side, except for the shadow on her face. Just be aware of that in the future when shooting.
