Believe it or not, the girl in the photos is a "self-photographer", she uses a timer.. I am so captivated by the quality of her photos and how the camera captures the color so well.

Hi everyone, I am new to cameras.. I hope you can help me understand them a bit more..

As you have seen the photos above, there's no sense in me describing what kind of a camera I would like to purchase as the photos above illustrate the kind of camera I would want, I need your help in helping me find a camera that produces such great quality photos and captures colour well

I'm thinking a digital camera? I have no budget, so cost is not an issue
The camera will mostly be used for "self-photography" and taking pictures of my mother who is a model

Any suggestions on what camera I should get?

Hey Jayla. Welcome to ThePhotoForum.

I had to edit your first post to the forum just a bit and also to move it.

In our Galleries we only see photos displayed that were taken by the posters themselves. Not those taken by someone else. There are guidelines about this that can easily be found in the FAQs. Therefore I had to change the photos that you displayed (and apparently like very much) to mere links to the site where they are from.

And since you are not displaying your work - which is what the galleries are there for - but asking a question on how to achieve photos of this kind, I moved your post to The Beginners' Place. I feel this is where it belongs.

As soon as you have the camera that you want and taken the first photos with it, do come to the galleries and show us, will you?

They are links because as LaFoto said you can ONLY POST photos that YOU have taken. I hope that clears that up!!!

yes, lafoto changed them to links for the reason she discribed above.

As for your question..... the answer is more to do with how good you are as a photographer, rather than how good the camera is that you buy.
If money is no issue then you could get a Nikon D2x.... but then a more skilled photographer could get better pictures than you with a Nikon D50.... and the price difference is well over a thousand pounds (GBP) between the two.

So my advice would be to get any mid-range camera from Canon, Nikon or Minolta then do some kind of photography course..... or simply self teach by reading alot, and following tutorials, not just in how to take a photograph but in how to process one using a programme like photoshop.

It will certainly take time to get shots similar to the ones you posted.
