I think we have a new tenant.

A few days ago, I see a bit of wood debris on the ground below the large maple we have outside our bedroom window. Yesterday, I see a lot more wood chips. Today, I see that someone/something has cut a semi-rectangular hole in the main trunk of the tree, about 25 ft. above the ground. It's clearly newly cut as the wood surrounding the hole is pale yellow. Haven't yet seen the new occupant, but I think I'm setting up the tripod and the telephoto. Because, when your new tenant is just outside your bedroom window, you want to know who your neighbors are.
