Hey, this is great. Why spend time learning to be a photographer when you can just run software? Don't' worry about lighting or exposure, let the software handle it. It just really pisses me off that modern 'photographers' don't seem to understand that they are supposed to create the image.

The reason you learn about light and study the classic lighting schemes is so you have the tools to apply to the situation. The idea is not to force a person into a lighting solution but exactly the opposite. So instead of photographing a pimple and porous skin with a texture revealing lighting scheme, perhaps the lighting scheme could be adjusted to reveal less.

I have no problem with basic pimple and highlight removal but substituting software for basic photographic understanding is an abomination of the art form.

Umm... its called 'Adobe After Affects' or 'Autodesk Combustion'. All they did was turn a simplified (dumbed down) video compositing tutorial into a music video

I actually read that the "tricks" were not done using software at all, but instead they took 4 months, made the changes to the model's makeup and hair and made a composite video.
Not sure if that is true or not, because it was a translation of a quote from the video maker. Saw it on Scott Kelby's facebook.

of course it's a composite video. (objectiveness: watch her chest change at 1:15 and her hairstyle suddenly change when they zoom out for the next round of "effect")

it's a freaking music video and a social statement.

I"ll bet its already Adobe prototype. And when it comes out everybody will want it, but not afford it. Customers can just email any old snapshot. Gives a whole new meaning to fix it in Photoshop. Best view of the future I've seen. I agree with the guy who thought we were supposed to create the image.

well, I dont think we should drag a really cool video with a really cool song (tho i couldnt understand it, it was catchy) into yet another debate on "how much processing is too much" debate.

technology has changed almost every level of industry.

even as a photographer, why complain about what software is doing to the industry, but not care that cars have ruined the horse and buggy market. or that CGI is damaging actor roles in movies. Its like people that complain about digital photography hurting the "purer" film format. or that roll film hurt the wet plate format. or that the introduction of 35mm film hurt the 120 and 220 formats.

technology marches on. It always has. Dragging its detractors along kicking and screaming every time.
you have the same options all of your predecessors have had before you.
Adapt, Evolve, and Persevere...
