Lighten up - it was just an amusing video, showing software that isn't available.

Umm... its called 'Adobe After Affects' or 'Autodesk Combustion'. All they did was turn a simplified (dumbed down) video compositing tutorial into a music video

Umm... Wrong on both counts, as well as being another person who missed the point.

I'll only post the most serious of topics from now on, so that the pedants and aggressive, judgemental so-and-so's get to beat their collective chests and make lots of noise about things that sane people don't care about.

Posted in Off Topic Chat and titled "I want this software!" I see no mention of photography. People are perhaps making nice careers out of graphic design, movie making, special effects, make up etc. all of that fake stuff.

Cheap, not up to date pots and pans can produce some great food. Like a photograph, its what you put into it that counts.

Hey, this is great. Why spend time learning to be a photographer when you can just run software? Don't' worry about lighting or exposure, let the software handle it. It just really pisses me off that modern 'photographers' don't seem to understand that they are supposed to create the image.

The reason you learn about light and study the classic lighting schemes is so you have the tools to apply to the situation. The idea is not to force a person into a lighting solution but exactly the opposite. So instead of photographing a pimple and porous skin with a texture revealing lighting scheme, perhaps the lighting scheme could be adjusted to reveal less.

I have no problem with basic pimple and highlight removal but substituting software for basic photographic understanding is an abomination of the art form.
