If buying today: 1d mark ii or d2x?

Hello.

How are you?
I am thinking about buying a camera with a good durable body and good economics and external control.
I am a fan of the vertical grip shooting option, but don't really like the added grips on standard cameras. So, looking at one of these:
Canon 1d mark ii or Nikon d2x.
It it will be an all around camera.
To use with an all around zoom and some primes.
In my background I had a 20d and a 5d with several lenses.
Then got tired of the bulk and weight and got a m43 system. Love it!
But guess I miss the ergonomics and control of a dslr, so thinking on one of th3se to go along my m43.
What's your take?

I used to shoot with a IdmarkII

Everything about the camera except the weight was a joy. Ergonomics was good except many didnt like the whole two button push design of the menus. Suppose to prevent accidental changes of settings and it didnt bother me. It was the weight and the fact that photography became a pure hobby with a growing family that helped was towards the micro 43 system. One thing to be aware is that its batteries are not Li-ion but NiMH. You should do some research on how to maintain those batteries as they are not as maintenance free as the newer lithiums.

I love mine. The ISO performance up to 3200 is useable, the AF is incredible, and 8 mp is enough for most applications.

I do have to agree that the batteries are lame. They lost charge over time, they're huge, and they're VERY expensive to replace.

The screen is also not thy great. It's not one of the newer screens that only minimally change when you view it from different angles. The 1D screen is like a mini laptop screen. Tilting it change the relative luminance.

Ive found that the 1D renders colors and tones more accurately than newer sensors, or at least it seems like that.
