Good Ethics?
This is where, not everyone is the same.
Why bother saying anything at all if you aren't interested? Seems like a waste of time.

BTW: this thread got interesting and sorry, it's not because of the kitten photos themselves.
Ahh, the internet!

I've seen your posts. 3000+ posts since August? I'll get to your level quickly if I do what you do: jump into a thread to stick up for one of your forum buddies. Sure, I've seen you help people, but why did you feel the need to post in this thread?

Pretty sure BlackRose is one of his pretty good forum buddies. And sorry to tell you but cgipson is one of the most helpful people on here.

Maybe if you actually knew what you were talking about you'd sound more credible!

If this forum is so horrible why did you join up? And why not just leave?

Yes it is true. Cgipson is a big reason why I have learned so much in such little time. Just because we're forum buddies doesn't mean we agree all the time :) .

Not defending anyone. Just stating a fact. Another thread that didn't need to go this direction.

But what was the point of your comment then?
BlackRose isn't a 1st time poster - she's a very active member - and she knows everybody has different attitudes/opinions. She voiced hers and it would've died down until.......

Not my stile to post in a pissing match but I must say I was surprised @ the way Traveler responded. Not his usual helpful way of offering it. Perhaps he was having a bad day like most of us have @ times.

I think if you look through of my photos for CC, I have never responded badly to critcisms. I try to take in all things considered. The Facebook "slight" was uncalled for. If that wasn't in there, I wouldn't have said anything. I would have thanked him for the advice as my history shows I have done all through the criticisms I have received. I've been working very hard, busting my @ss, heeding everyone's advice.

So I'm sorry, but I found it offensive acting like I'm trying to do nothing more then cutesy facebook photos when I've been trying very hard and my progress shows that.

I felt I received an unfair slight, and I spoke up.

And here we go. The known subjects in a thread again where they don't belong. Ready with their flame throwers. Right on time.

WOW.. you are actually up to SIX (6) posts now.. and not a single bit of it helping anyone.. only complaining about the rest of us who spend a lot of hours trying to help others. :)

Because ANGEL (BlackRose89) is a friend... and she was screwing up! That is why... although I don't see it as being any of your business! :)

BTW.. concerning the the 3000+ posts... did you notice I also have a few "LIKES" also.. those come from people that are able to appreciate it when I try to help... or at least appreciate my sense of humor! The post count I could care less about.. whoopee.. but the "LIKES" I am proud of! :)

Self critique is a trait that is one of the most valuable skills a newbie can posses and one of the least mentioned enough. Perhaps The_Traveler was attempting to point this out for you.

Although I have longed believed the following quote was attributed to Abraham Lincoln, there are some other possibilities such as Mark Twain, George Eliot, Groucho Marx, Albert Einstein and some dude named Silvan Engel....... however, the sentiment stands on its own.

Knee jerk reactions usually suffer this dilemma and the typical outcome.

I leave for the day and come back to this.
lol one big happy family.
I've seen Traveler try to help folks, and I may be wrong but I don't think he meant anything by it.
The facebook thing, however, has become an insult to people on this forum.

Personally I don't understand it. I've seen quite a few images on facebook that might qualify one as a damn good photographer.
I may even join facebook myself...........hint hint ..............hahahahahaha
Chill out folks, you're supposed to be having a good time here. A little spat here and there,,,,,well, you gotta admit..........it's funny and becomes fun sometimes.
Good for the soul. Makes you come out guns ah blazin. I can also damn near guarantee that what Traveler told you will make you better.
You gotta channel that stuff.
Could be worse. You could be shooting at each other on the streets.
LMAO.

Who am I to talk? Right?
I had my rounds and got slapped around quite a few times.
They were right.

I don't think anyone here is finished making mistakes.
I know I'm not.

Angel, to answer your question, pictures 2 & 3 look some what washed out from the conversion to B & W. Picture 1 is my favorite of the 3. If you do decide to do a little more PP, try some selective cropping to just below the front feet, as it would tighten up the picture and our focus on his face and paws. Took the liberty of doing a fast crop to show you what I'm talking about.

A true photographer...

That's rich!

Where are your photos Bitter???

Is this everyone attack Bitter day?

I don't see anything wrong with Traveler's post. Its all about how you look at a comment. My first post on the forum went strikingly similar to this. It wasn't until I read and reread everything that I realized what he was getting at: critiquing your own pictures is a priceless skill. I took his comments as condescending at first, but now I realize that he was just helping.

Seriously people, in my short time on this forum, I have learned so many things from these people. Most everyone on here has a wealth of information that they can offer you. Don't burn those bridges.

<Not necessarily directed at the OP>

Rough crowd :). Cute kittens...but then I'm just a newb.
