that's not much money to have to add one item. Maybe under $1,500 or very lowest $1,000. For me that would be either a 24-70 or a 70-200 (used of course).

Nikon 800mm f5.6 it's only 18k.

Realistically though my goal for the next year is something like the Nikon 400mm f2.8 or 200-400 or 500mm...
That could be hard to do though with our first little one on the way.

Realistically though....probably a Canon 5D MkIII body. I'd say a 1D-X, but that's not realistic for me.

Second choice would probably be the 24-70 f/2.8L

You obviously have never used a 1Dx. Love mine as well as my 1D MkIV.
