If you could have one more item to add to your bag, what would it be?

Is it something I can't sell? I would pick the Canon EF 1200mm f/5.6L. It must be a fun lens to use even if it wouldn't exactly be practical.

Can I sell it? Then I would pick the Leica 1600mm f/5.6 which sold for $2,000,000. I would use the money to buy a 1D C and complete L lens set. Then maybe a new house if I have any left over.

Seriously: I, like others, will assume that this little exercise precludes just choosing a ridiculously expensive piece of gear and then selling it to buy all the things you actually want. If reselling is an option, then we would likely ALL just research something crazy expensive (that people actually BUY...) and then use the funds to buy several of the things we actually want.

If it's just one item, and not one you can resell for funds: I'd take a D800.
