What's new

If you could travel anywhere to photograph, where?

Feasable: Minneapolis, MN during the dead of winter and in the Spring/Summer

Less-Feasible: Cardiff Wales, Netherlands, London

Matchu Pitchu
New Zealand
Alps

Back to Vietnam .. this time, instead of an M-16 5.56mm, I'd carry a 35mm ...

A lot lighter and quieter.. :meh:

I actually may have a few trips planned! We're talking about Montana or Colorado for the summer, but eventually I'd really like to visit Alaska and the Mayan Ruins :)

Galapagos Islands!

New Zealand again, and not during the rainy season. Oh, and I'd want two months instead of two weeks. Tip to anyone going to New Zealand -- the Milford Track in Fiordland National Park requires reservations because the government wants limited access to keep it as pristine as possible, and those reservations get booked QUICKLY. If you're making reservations in September for a (their) summer trip, it'll be too late. It's one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world.

I also want to see:
Argentina
Ukraine (with my Canon AE-1 and some grainy B&W film)
Montana and Alaska, in the US
Pretty much anywhere not here, really.

I really have a hard time with questions like this and I have been thinking about this question since I saw it posted.... I can't pick a single place. I have a "social worker's" mindset. I want to help people. I want to be somewhere that I can feel like I'm making a difference and I want to be somewhere that is an "extreme". So, the best answer that I can really give to a question like this is that I would LOVE to go to a third world country and basically do a photojournalism type thing and document the poverty, starvation, and the life that the people live there. I don't want to go somewhere beautiful. I don't want to go somewhere with crazy weather to get pictures of snow or of pristine beaches. I want to go to the worst parts of the world and show people what is going on there. And I wouldn't go there JUST to photograph and document. I would help the people there as much as I could while I was there.

I'm sure this is a more "heart felt" response than what the OP was looking for, but it happens sometimes. :)

Africa. Love to shoot some wild tigers, leopards and wildlife.

Wait... need a 600mm lens... crap!

Pffft 600mm lens. Just grow a set and put on some track shoes, and hire a loco local with a .30-06 to creep around with you. Don't let him wear track shoes, though.:lmao:

I'd love to return to Costa Rica and explore the Osa Peninsula again, this time without a wife to listen to the whole time.

Norway, New Zealand, Greenland, Iceland... Can't say I'm much of a fan of hot places. lol

Other than that it'd be the Paris Air Show or Farnborough and Cape Canaveral for a Shuttle launch.
