Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Anyway...........this wasn't easy with the wind blowing the subject in and out of focus.
Pretty much straight out of the camera with some slight lightroom enhancement and a slight crop for composition purposes.
Open to suggestions, so rip it apart.

I personally like it but I'm not a pro so you can take that however you want! :D

And then she caught lunch, wrapped it up in a web while I stood there watching the brutal event thru a macro lens.
Amazing stuff out there that folks take for granted.

Oh come on.............there's got to be something wrong with the imageS.
Anyone?

Could it be that I've outgrown the beginners forum?

FIND SOMETHING WRONG WITH THESE IMAGES!
I hereby demand that the image Gods ( you know who you are) sack me like white on rice!
Make sure your monitor is calibrated.

I WANT CRITICISM AND I WANT IT NOW

I don't like it for the simple fact that it's a spider, and I don't really like them all that much... Does that help? :-)

It's a terrible picture. Better? :) Just kidding, I absolutely love this.

And THANK YOU.
Not quite what I was looking for , but I'm now your biggest fan!

Ohh wait you mean about the pics right?? Ahhhh... ;)

Settings - gear - lighting - setup? All key details that help the critiquer give you more feedback. The more we know about how you took the shot the more we can guide you. If you have any pre-concived ideas too about the shot then airing them helps too.

First up considering there was wind on the web I'd say well done on both shots, getting shots of anything that can move around in the wind is a nightmare and many times its a situation where you are lucky to get anything. For a web its doubly hard since you can't reach forward and support part of the structure (like you can with a plant) against the wind itself.

The first photo I would consider a god shot indeed, a better shot would have got things a little more central and "face on" (or rather belly on) to the spider. You've also a lot of black around the head area; might be shadowing but might be that your contrast/blacks is a little high and could be reigned in during RAW processing (if shot in RAW) and then selectivly allowed to be a little weaker in that area before boosting the brightness just to show a little detail.
Most of the insect body is decently exposed though the shell is rather reflective and you've got a fair few hotlines and spots over the middle sections - were you using flash? Was it diffused? How so?

Second shot is a good habbitual shot; although would be stronger if we could have seen any legs of the spider closer to the prey (as often is seen as they wrap their food) just to help build the association between the two. If you've more a series of the wrapping would work very well as a presentation - although you've still the same hotspot problem with the spider belly as in the first shot.

I try.
lol

Other than that comment..............I cannot thank you enough.
All in all I would consider this critique a compliment coming from you.
Especially the part about the " God shot."
It is good , isn't it.

lol

This stuff is hard. They are never where you want them to be when you need them to be there.
I'm telling you, it's hard.

disclaimer: Natural light diffused - I was in the woods. Sat on the subject for over 7 hours waiting for that light, happened at about 2:10 pm, I happened with it. Processing in lightroom = very little.
Gear : Pentax K7 - Pentax 100mm macro DFA WR. Bogan pod.
Preconceived ideas: Get the shot.

i dont think anyone really considers being tucked away for someone's lunch later as being something on the average person's mind (in this case 'average' probably nearly 99% of us lol)...

but great shot tho :D
