im new & advice about new dslr lcd screen

heya, im new to this forum so be nice to me!! lol

Right, ive just bought a nikon d40 and when the screen is on but black, for example DURING start up, there are 2 bright red specks.

Is this something i should worry about?

I just recieved a d40x and noticed something similar, i get one small green dot. I believe these are just burn out pixels, so you should have anything to worry about. I dont even really notice anymore, just when there a black screen.

oh really? that is good to hear.

ive also just read in my guide that

The monitor may contain a few pixels that are always lit or theat do not light. This is common to all TFT LCD monitors and does not indicate a malfunction

So i hope this doesnt indicate a weakness and more is gonna happen to the screen?

Its not gonna affect performance or lead to any future problems, its just a minor annoyance.

So dont go blaming your crap pictures on your messed up pixels, haha

i know it happens to projectors after being used for a while. But its kinda wierd that ours came messed up
