Hello. I purchased a Canon Rebel XT about a month ago, and as of now only have the kit lens (18-55 mm) as well as the 50 mm (f/1.8) lens. It took me forever to learn how to use it (I refuse to put the settings on automatic), but I'm finally starting to get the hang of it. Here are a few of my favorite pics, please comment :)

Nice pics. Much better than mine so far. I have a hard time getting away from auto focus myself, but I'm starting to force myself to do it.

Mitch, I gotta say, #3 in the first set is fantastic! I'd love to have a print of that hanging in my house- there's just something so spooky and old about it.

Also, the pug picture is pretty adorable.

Thanks :)

Would you like to see the color version of it?

My friends and I used to go inside of it--really creepy. There were newspapers from the 40s spread all over the floor, and there were many, many shoes just randomly thrown out on the floors.

I like the first version of the house you posted better. That really is a fantastic shot. You're off to a great start - good for you for keeping your camera on manual! Keep it up.

Thanks!

I want to get it printed on canvas and framed because I think it would look great in my dorm (through Imagekind, which easily imports your Flickr photos), but the total would come to 85.67. I doubt that's really worth it though, lol.

the shot of the old house with the big trees are great! sharp and the sepia version gives it a very old creepy look.

yea, your definitely off to a great start. you have a very good eye for details that are often ignored.

nice photos Mitch...keep shootin' it only gets better...and seemingly easier as well. lol

Nice shots, keep shootin.

That's so cool- I love places like that, but I haven't been inside one for a while. Thanks for posting the larger versions (and the colour one) too! Again, just stunning. :)
