Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I've been criticized here before for posting too many photos, so I try my best to space it out. The people photography forum isn't very active though, so even when I do space posts out by a week or so, it still looks like I'm overtaking the forum with my threads. That said, here's a few favorites from a recent client session. A few of these were picked out by me personally, and then the majority were picked for editing by the client. Outfits were specifically curated by the client to match his social media presence.

All photos were lit using natural light and a white disc reflector. I've owned this particular 85mm lens for 9 months now, and I still "struggle" to change the aperture setting from f/1.2, no matter what I'm shooting. Even for very close-up portraits I just love the look, and I feel that it suits my style as a portrait photographer. I have been doing portrait photography for 18 years now and have gone through all sorts of phases, including using f/8 for all of my outdoor natural light portraits as well, so I understand the value of not using such a wide aperture, but right now I'm enjoying the wide aperture for my work. No complaints from any of my clients about it either.

I've been criticized here before for posting too many photos,
That’s probably the craziest thing I’ve ever heard on a photography forum. WHo’s sitting besde these people, forcing them to look?

Did these dudes explain what the line would be the difference between you posting too many, and others posting not enough?

Given that that it’s a photography forum, my criticism would be those who comment but never post images, or those who ask for help, but don’t post images of what they are trying to accomplish.

"I wish I could unsee :-/"
Compared many Warhol and or Maplethorpe images, these are tame. None of us find all photography interesting. That’s a given. Appreciating art does require a level of maturity however, and not everyone is broad enough in their outlook to see every image as art. After all, we have some people claiming David is pornography, one of the great pieces of art in western civilization. SO, I guess it’s to be expected.

And I still don’t think you’ll ever be an art critic. Censoring reality doesn’t make it go away. The comment is inappropriate for a photography forum. But looking at your nick, I'd guess you’re OK with that.

Are you going to tell us why you’d like to unsee them, or would that be too Politically Incorrect?

The images are well done, head shot portraits especially so.

Even if it’s not your cup of tea it doesn't negate good work.

I do not want to be an art critic.

Apart from that, you compared photos of a steroid boy in the process of pulling down his underpants with the work of Michelangelo, and you are telling me that I'll "never be an art critic"!
LOL

Personally, I don't give a crap why he wants to unsee the images. We can all make our own inferences from such a comment, though - and if the member is comfortable with these inferences, so be it.

That said, if all any viewer has to offer as commentary is this kind of negative non-comment, then it would be best to move on. There are plenty of images posted on TPF to look at.

You know nothing about this model. This is an unfounded and offensive comment.

You think whoever modeled for David was a steroid boy, too?

Hmm. It wasn't a moderator, was it? I believe our only ask is that, when posting multiple shots in a single post, you might help the viewer comment by numbering the images- say, 6 or more. But there's no hard rule on that.

Sounds like a personal problem. Therapy could help, or the previously suggested melon baller since I doubt you have the mental capacity or maturity for therapy. :)

Oh, I completely agree with you on it being crazy to hear something like that in a photography forum. My images have elicited lots of weird responses, now including this collection as well. Personal unapologetic expression and self confidence seems to make some folks uncomfortable I guess.

Yikes. A lot of judgement from someone who claims not to be a critic.
