So here is an image I am working on. Still not totally pleased... What do you think?

It's a shame it's not very sharp (or maybe it just looks it because it's a small version), but the light from the town lighting up the mountain is enough to save it in this instance. Can you bring out any detail in the dark shadows of the town?

Perhaps you could reduce the yellows slightly to cool the whole image down a smidge.

Personally, I'd also be tempted to ditch the smudged stars by either cloning them out or replacing the sky.

These are only minors things, but I think they would help. I think the photo overall is wonderful. I so love the light from the town on the mountain - it's so unusual to see a mountain lit from below.

Keep working on it and show us what you end up with!

I'd probably crop out the bigger house at the bottom.

I'd recommend that if you want to put that enormous watermark on it at least make it dark gray or something so it doesn't look like a neon sign in the desert.

I'd probably crop out the bigger house at the bottom.

Cloning out the bright windows might be just as effective.

I really like the image overall, but the light in the sky is very bandy on my screen.

It has potential, but it looks to me like you need better exposures of the mountain... it looks like it was underexposed and brought up in post. How many shots, what stop separation was the HDR done with?

Really? I think it gives a great sense of distance between the foreground and the mountain which, in turn, gives a sense of the scale of the mountain.

Thanks all,

I like my logo... A lot of places say your logo doesn't stand out enough, so now no one can ever complain. I actually have had photos rejected just because of logos. Now it never gets rejected...

The mountains are not perfectly sharp, good eye! Because the light from the town drowns it out I had to do a lot of processing to get it to stand out over the city.

This is 3 exposure -3 -2 -1 the houses in the foreground were too bright to me so I burned them, I wanted a night feeling instead of long exposure look. They can be brightened quite a bit.

The yellow is from a warming filter, but too much? I should tone it down a bit.

The banding from the sky is a vignette which I may be able to remove.

I won't be cropping the house because I agree I think it gives more depth.

Thanks for the suggestions!
