Of course, this Pentax version is the only one that can be casually mounted on the latest digital APS-C or FF body and expected to be recognized by the camera and function perfectly- and with 5-axis stabilization. That lens has a pretty image nature to it. We had one in the late 1980's on a Program Plus. That period, 1986-1991, had a good number of nice 35-70mm, compact zooms, some with macro ranges, from various manufacturers. That category kind of replaced the 50mm prime lens as the "normal" lens for a lot of people. It's easy to see why too, looking at this nice closeup.
