Impala

This was a photo I took at the first car show of 2017 (in my area of course) and when I saw this Impala with the cool cloud formations and the sun kind of behind the car but behind the clouds enough that it wasn't insanely overexposed but softened the light a little bit to capture this photo. This is when using my UWA comes in handy.

Granted it's not perfect, I mean it's at a car show and there is people, tents, cars and other distractions that I just don't have any control over. But like I did a good enough job that was worthy of sharing here.

It terms of processing, just basically converted it to B&W and played around with sliders. One thing I did was add a horizontal gradient filter to darken the sky and I also lowered darkened the blues in the sky as well. I did a little bit of dodging and burning too (I've been getting to that as of late).

Nikon D610 + 16-35 f/4 VR at 16mm, f/8, 1/1600th & ISO 800

Wow, looooove this 'graphics' style, did things like that in the 1970's.
I thing it's interesting to take this kind of photography to a higher level and create a '2017 mix' to it.

Absolutely not saying my edit is perfect, but I just want to show you that the fact a pictures is taken at a car-show with a lot of crowd etc., doesn't really say very much!! Get creative and pick-up all editing tools you can find.
It's all just what YOU make of it!

I might have flipped the camera vertically... might have emphasized the car and sky/clouds with some foreground and made for a cool perspective and eliminated the other cars.

Nice shot-super sharp! I like the b&w but curious what the color version looks like? I would remove the other cars and then crop it a bit on the sides to really bring the grill closer- almost a square.

Color version, just note that I didn't do any processing. I just simply switched it from B&W to color.
