Impressionistic painting?

This is pretty much out of camera, crop, and exp tweak. In other words a screw-up. BUT I can't get over the colors, the blending...I think I will blow it up to about 11x14 and print it on canvas.

I get where you are coming from here. If it were me I'd clone out most of the eye blur as looking like it has three eyes is weird.

For me the main interest in this shot is the birds shoulder which has some nice lines and some cool colour blending. I wonder what an abstract square crop of that area would look like.

I kinda tried square , but it always included that dark branch on the right and I really didn't want ot do any cloning/healing as that is a bugger to match up with complicated blurred backgrounds. But you are right, I think a square crop would have been the choice. Could square it up going to the left though....hmmm, will have to play some more before sending it off. Thanks for 'kick'.
