The lighting is nice but as far as composition goes it's a bit awkward.

Ned, let me point out the things that make this composition superb.

Very good balance over the entire frame. The girl's arm echoes the tree branches. Her other arm provides a spot of light in the lower right corner, balancing the remainder. There are several textures, including the girl's skin, her hair, the shirt, and the tree branches. The model's pose and expression give us a feeling that there is something on her mind, so we start to wonder about that. And lastly, Jen's choice to convert this to B&W makes all of that work perfectly.

I agree that the composition is awkward, not too fond of the angle either. Isn't very flattering. my eyes are drawn more towards her torso than her face. The whole thing is a little too 'grey' and contrast for my taste also, I like to see strong blacks and strong whites in black and white photos, not mainly light greys and dark greys
