60 years ago today, the first Sputnik was launched by the Soviet Union.

My best friend and I were just talking the other day about when we were kids and the capsule would plop in the ocean and a ship would go out to pick them up... seems like it was a big deal at the time.

I don't know how the astronauts stood it in that little compartment drinking Tang.
