Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
As part of my aim to teach myself photography (lacking funding and time for a course) I have used my blog to log my methods of taking phots - as well as evaluating my own work and seeing where I am going right and where I am going wrong.
What I am looking for now is for some people to look at what I have said in my blog and to give me some feedback - am I thinking along the right lines - am I making any errors and are there any methods I can use to improve;

3 most recent and complete blog guide posts:

Thank you

Hey,
you might have more luck if you just post your blogs on here. I don't think people really go to a blog looking to provide feedback... they're more like online books that you go and read and take info away from. Forums are for feeding back in information.

Very true! I second that. I sometimes want to say the same thing - pretty much whenever I see a link to anything offsite. But I don't cuz I'm afraid I'll sound bossy or something.

Why wouldn't anyone click an external link?

It saves TPF's hosting costs which can't be a bad thing.

I don't differentiate between on and off site links when it comes to looking at examples of people's work.

I would have missed some magificant photographs if I had.

Re the moon images

Are you keeping track of the real apertures, at least in your head? Your f/2.8 lens is no longer an f/2.8 when there are two 2x TCs behind it, it is an f/11 (2.8 x 2 x 2). That's probably why the first image looks darker than the second - they were taken at different exposures. As an aside, f/8 is not usually called a wider aperture than f/5.6.

Best,
Helen

Thanks Helen :)
Ahh I had to run that first bit through my head a few times before it clicked - then I felt foolish -- a downside to letting the camera do all the thinking!
And thanks for the catch with the aperture

All your post make me think you're god. Seriously. You provide some excellent info on this forum.
