Indoor lighting practice c&c please

If you can please overlook the composition for now Im just trying to get my indoor lighting down using my flash at about 11 oclock ,big window to the right and and an umbrella light to the left.

The last photo was taken with 2 umbrella lights and 2 more added lights , thank goodness she was wearing a white shirt cause when i snapped the last 2 and uploaded them the color was just awful orangish yuk ! I set the white balance using the dropper tool in lightroom on her white shirt. Now I know what mixing light can produce and as you can tell my daughter just isnt a happy camper lol

The first image has a pretty decent balance between window light and flash. If you're looking for inspiration check out Magdalena Berny , she's an absolute master of window light and natural light portraits.
The third image is very evenly lit, which can be nice, though not always terribly interesting.
The final image could use some work...perhaps adding a backlight to help separate the subject from the background, or lighting your backdrop....or maybe I'm just be responding to how ticked off your daughter looks...
Keep at it, you're onto something with the window light!

Overall, they're not bad. I love how her expression gets just a little bit more annoyed in each shot!

1. The flash here is just a tad hot. I would drop it down about 1/3 of a stop

2. This seems to be just about an ideal balance.

3. I am going to disagree with Sam on this; to me, it seems very evenly lit, verging on flat, with the exception of the under-chin/neck shadow.

4. I think here she needed to be turned just a little more to her right, but not bad.

My personal preference is to avoid mixing windowlight and flash, rather I prefer to use reflectors to bring the same light in on all sides of the subject.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.
