this is almost SOOC.
the only adjustment I made in LR was WB and cropping.
sigma 50mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1
no particular reason for posting this. I was just messing around with a sewing machine the wife is fixing. Thought it looked neat.
feel free to C&C though. This is probably my third macro shot. ever.

Gritty.
It's surprising how odd many everyday objects look when seen at huge sizes in a photograph. Next subject...the designer's initials on the front of the Lincoln cent...look at the bottom, right edge of Lincoln's suit jacket, down near the rim of the penny.

Very Sharp,I feel like I am viewing it in hand but not just because its size 1.1 but because I could actual see crumbs I think and some fiber thread on it. Life size and tack sharp. I swear I can also see where the screwdriver left its marks.

she actually has a new old machine im waiting to do a portrait of.
a centennial edition Singer 99k with the bentwood case intact.

like #2 a good bit, though I kind of wish the focal plane was in alignment equally so that the parts were equally in focus on the circle.

yea, macro is a PITA.
especially when i dont have a focusing rail. since the lens becomes fixed at 1:1, i either have to move the whole camera to adjust focus, or move whatever im photographing. with the camera on a tripod, i wound up moving the whole sewing machine back and forth while looking through the viewfinder to get the focus right. not exactly ideal.
might do better with smaller objects until i order a focusing raid for the camera.

oh yeah, believe me, I understand why it's hard. that focal depth is measured in micrometers.
