I'm not sure the R7 has a sync port.

No, no sync port unfortunately. I wonder if there is a such thing as a hot shoe sync cable. Off to look.

Edit: Turns out that there is a thing called a TTL Hotshoe Cable which should work if the flash is not too far from the camera.

I have multiple length sync cords that I use with my main speed light, and a hot shoe PTTL adapter. FYI read the details carefully, I had problems with generic versions and my Pentax cameras. Despite the pins and cable "looking right", they just wouldn't work with PTTL. Went with Pentax branded.....works great.
