I was just curious. My wife used to shoot with a Minolta Maxxum 9xi. She switched to a Sony A-100 a year ago. Since then I got addicted to photography and was told the Minolta was mine to play with so I could decide if I liked the hobby enuf to warrant purchasing a dslr of my own. Well on boxing day this year I became the owner of an A-200. Now for my question. I have noticed that my images turned out better on the Minolta than with the A-200. Is this because I was more cautious in choosing my images or could it have something to do with the older lenses that we are using?

Since you mentioned lenses I'm assuming by better you meant sharper.

In my opinion, no auto-focus system beats manually focusing on a camera with a large, bright, viewfinder and a good focusing prism.
