I hate digital noise and any noise that looks artificial but i die for film grain... I push process my film just to boost the visibility of film grain lol.

I dont know, just don't like it in digital. But hey im a random crazy person so hey.

These do not work on any level they are so badly blown, my dad always said you cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ear

The only time I like any intentional noise is with those gritty super detailed effects like Topaz does. I really like the way you went with the composition in the first one, but I think you took it a little too far. I would maybe have put a little more of her in the frame. It is blown, but sometimes that's intentional also. From what I've seen I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have done that by mistake.

I think they both look more like film grain than digital noise.. the color processing on #2 looks a bit like film too I think.

Kinda unrelated and somewhat unimportant but I'd reduce the opacity of your signature/watermark. I think it would look better and be less distracting.

hey yeah I took them off, you're right its grain, not noise. and yeah i'll change opacity

Personally, I like them.

The first one, how her being cropped out too much was mentioned, puts more focus on her hand on his chest with the engagement ring on her finger. Makes me think of an ad for a jewelry store, and their commitment to each other more so than just seeing a couple kissing.

The second one I like also. I think the focus, composition and exposure are on spot for my taste. The watermark, in my opinion is a bit distracting in the first two, I will agree.

The third one I like also but not quite as much. Maybe the colors or him being cropped out just a hair bit bothers me, but I do like what you did with the watermark in the third one much better than the ones in the first two.

I love film prints. Love love love them! I think you did very well with the noise on these, not overboard and not so distracting as to take away from the quality of the photos and just enough to make it look similar to film grain.

Just my opinion. I don't claim to be smart, or know what I'm talking about, so take it with a grain of salt, and keep up the good shooting!

Thanks. Yes with 1 I wanted to cut their faces off on purpose, so it puts more attention toward her hand and the ring since it is an e-shoot. 2nd, no the WB is not off on purpose Ron. LOL I hope you knew that! It was done intentionally. Once I put them all up you'll see what I'm trying to do. Filmshooter, thanks! I have a vision on how I wanted to present these photos in a series on my website (which is still under construction) so once they go up, it'll make more sense. Yes, I cut him off on purpose. :) Thanks for your C&C for them all!

Me too. I have three film bodies; at least one of them has Ilford 3200 in it at any given time.

I LIKE the first picture. As was stated above, this does look like an ad for a jewelry store! It looks quite good. Excellent ring shot!

The second photo...hmmm...his shirt is badly overexposed, and the green color looks bad to me. Green is just not appealing on people.

yeah I might change the 2nd one to natural shot Darrel
