Glad it worked out; 270 images sounds like a LOT to me, but it depends. Assuming that I understand correctly the nature of the event, my goal would be to deliver at least one image of everyone (Unless it's a really big event with many hundreds of attendees), candid group shots, and, ideally, an overall group.

Thanks for your comment! Yes I did make sure I get a picture of everyone. There where about 40 people. I also took a couple of pictures with the 5d 35L at 1.4 for the little details and food on the table. I will look trough it and make a smaller collection!

For a 40 person event, I would expect to deliver somewhere between 75 and 100 images.

Great thanks.. yes 270 would be boring! But maybe higher sell rate? I will upload them to a online store where family members can order pictures from.

Way too many, Pare it down. When someone says they're shooting 1500 in one photo shoot that says to me the person probably is just sprayin' and prayin' as the saying goes. That's shooting excessively and not taking time to take good quality photos. Start to learn from now on how to shoot events and develop your skills.

I usually suggest American Society of Media Photographers - Homepage or PPA for resources but those are geared to the US market so may not be as helpful elsewhere.
