iOS 8 is going to take 30 hours to download?

Is this happening to anyone else?

Tried to update my phone last night, but it told me 40 hours and ended with an error after a minute.

Tried again this morning; told me it would take 38 hours and ended with an error after a minute.

Tried again right now. It's telling me it'll take 30 hours. Well, it's down to 27 now.

Has anyone had luck with this or is it just me?

Nah, not slow internet. Wired directly to router with ~25 Mbps…

Oh well, I guess I'll try again later. Maybe their servers are overloaded?

Every review I've read has said to wait to do the down load because the entire I Phone world will be trying to download. I would give it a week or 2, what's the rush?? Got to be 10's of millions of phones, Pods and Pads out there trying to download. Be sure your phone has enough space for the download also.

I was lying in bed last night, reading TPF of course, picked up my phone, it said an upgrade was "ready", I said okay, and it installed it. I guess it had downloaded it while I wasn't looking! I hate that it took away my "All Photos", though. I have to dig through stupid "Collections" now!

I was fortunate enough to of got in the first download at 1:00 when it was released and it only took me 30 minutes.

However, once the 10's of MILLIONS get on, forget it.
