Aye Mates,
I was out and working with me retrievers yesterday when I came upon a woman named Gail and her two beautiful field bred Irish Setters. I asked her if I could take a few photographs of her setters and she cordially agreed.
Being that Gail specified that they were field bred Irish Setters, my interest was sparked as breeding for conformation traits for the show ring has largely diluted Irish Setter bloodlines relative to field performance. There does remain some breeders with field bred bloodlines, but they are largely far and few betwixt, most unfortunate as they are indeed impressive dogs.
~ Irish Meadows ~ "SHANNON" , one of two field bred Irish Setters owned by Gail that I got to meet yesterday. Gail traveled to Ireland to acquire her field bred setters.
~ Patty ~ Now o'er 10 years old, "PATTY" had some white mixed in with her Irish Setter red.
Both dogs were very friendly and were beautiful to watch as they moved across the green meadows.
Cheers,
