Is focus & recompose hosing me?

I almost always select my focus points (D300s) without issue.

Made this up a while back to try to show, on albeit a basic level, how recomposing by changing angle between camera and subject alters where the focal plane falls. Again, this doesn't take into account DoF but its good to get the point across....
