I was in my condo at the beach this weekend when I saw a beach wedding down below. I grabbed my 70-300 and took a shot or two. I looked at the photographer and notice he's using one of those bracket thingies (not so keen on those). looking at the flash, I don't recognise it but think it could well be a Nikon. It just doesn't look quite like my 580EX2. What do you think? Sorry about the photo quality - the 70-300 is not an impressive lens IMHO.

If he is it's a cheap lens. That lens neither is internally focused nor a Nikon Goldring lens (they only have 1 ring).

Flash seems to look a bit like a Canon 540EZ though that wouldn't make sense as I believe this flash is unusable on newer bodies.

I don't think it's the 28-75 as I don't think the 28-75 has that silver ring.

Could it be that he's using a film body?
