IS question

699.99 for the tamron 70-200mm 2.8. Reading through articles speed is the biggest factor I'm seeing so far. (I get nothing done at work lately)

I have the 70-200mm 2.8 IS and love it. The only thing I don't like is sometimes at weddings, since it's white, it tends to stand out more. Makes it a tad harder to take pics without them noticing you.

Judging by your signature you probably have the tamron somewhere in your collection. any issues you see in choosing that over the canon?

Mike I'll probably get the canon but don't see why I wouldn't check out the tamron at least.

Certainly check it out. I would even suggest bringing your camera into a store that has it in stock, as well as the Canon. Ask to take some test shots then go home and compare them on your computer screen.

I hear good things about the sigma, except it doesn't have IS. I read on a nother forum that the Tamron is slower focussing than the siggie & Canon, because it doesn't have an HSM/USM focus motor. So you may want to check that when test driving.

None of those lenses in his signature are the tamrom 70-200 f/2.8

Village. Thanks for taking me completely literally and not realizing I was joking around. He has such an arsenal of equipment IMO that I figured he'd know something about Tamron.

Thanks for laughing.

Oh wait. This is the internet. There are no facial features here.
