Is the LX100 a good camera?

Hey! I'm gonna buy my first ever camera and I decided it to be the Panasonic Lumix LX100. Since I'm a student, I went for a fixed lens camera as changing my lenses wouldn't be an option. I am both enthusiastic to shoot both good stills and video so I wanted a camera that is a good balance of both features. Is the LX100 the best choice to make?

Btw my budget is PHP 25,000 ($500) and IIRC, the LX100 retails at $600 brand new at the States. Here in the Philippines, it is $500 brand new, so I think it's already a steal. What do you guys think?
