Is there a Sony Vegas guru in the house??

Any Sony Vegas (Pro 10) experts here ?

The ''basic'' tutorial videos on youtube aren't basic enough for me.

I simply want to take some HD footage thats about 2 mins duration and edit 10 or 20 second excerpts from it..then arrange these together to make a simple video (in mpg) format.

What's the best raw format to work in the editor? AVI? HD seems to take an age to render and export.

It's been a while since I used to do some video work in Vegas. High quality video can take a long time to render, and depends on your processing power. I even had a small "render farm" with 3 computers. Even then, i can remember starting a render before going to work, so that it would ge finished by the time i got home. Sorry I can't really answer your question other than, yeah, it can take forever.
