What's new

Is there a way i can meld two pictures?

It definitely has, i just cant justify purchasing it for that one feature. I will try the other two you suggested.
I'm referring to several features that can be used for a variety of tasks beyond the one task you want to accomplish immediately.

At some point in the not to distant feature, you will need another feature that Photoshop has, and then another, and then 3 more, and then 6 more...........

We will walk over that bridge when we come to it.

When you get Ps, it'll come with a Bridge.

If you can afford the monthly subscription (I don't know what it is in your area) it would be worthwhile. Then you'd have Ps and Lr at least, and for a bit more the whole Create Suite.

Are you looking to just do something like this:

Quite simple in Ps. Literally just making a quick mask and dropping a sky on it.

I just made my first layer thing, i cant get it to properly select the edges though:

There are a lot of different techniques to making selections. One thing you can do is increase the exposure with an exposure layer, or a levels, layer, or a curves layer. Then your selection tools should have more to work with. You can go into your channels panel and pick the channel with the greatest contrast between subject and background and use it to make the selection. Personally I just opt for the pen tool most of the time. For all the time it can take to get the quick selection tool to make the selection you want, then to have to go back anyway and fine tune the mask, it's easier to just use the pen tool and get it right the first time. It takes a while to get used to working with it, but it's worth the effort.

I think so too. I am a quick learner.

Just go to Google and search 'Replace the sky'. Most of the information will be how to do it with photoshop, but I assume those other programs work in a similar way.
