Is there any use for old strobe systems?

The place I've retired from and still work some part time at is moving again. I used to shot product shots and used an old large strobe system.

Giant. heavy power supply, giant heads with the big umbrellas and shadow boxes. They are no longer used, been sitting for 10 years and will probably get tossed in the move.

Should I "save" them from the dump, but I don't have a use for them either.

I'll try them, but they are pretty old and couple of heads are dinged up. They work just fine, but with LED lighting now, doubt anyone would want them.

I would not toss them someone will want them and LED is great but I still have strobes too for stopping action. Especially dancers and other high movement subjects

eBay, fb marketplace? Are you near any universities? Maybe they could use a donation, if they have photography as part of the art program.

I have some vintage Buff White Lightnings that I haven't used in decades. I'll never use them again, but just can't bring myself to throw them out. Shipping costs would be a nightmare, so I just sit on them.

What brand are they?

sorry for the late reply, they are Speedotron brand, I'll get the model and count on the heads tomorrow.
Check out FB, there is a Speedotron user group where people post buy and sell. As long as the packs are still good, there is value in those old Speedo's. I still own a 2403B and 102 head for my optical spot.

Thanks, will do.

There may also be local camera clubs that would like them. We sometimes use studio strobes at our club for places where LED lights don't work well.

I'll look, but in a small town so probably have to go to the "big city" to find one.

They do seem to be dying off, but not long ago we had at least half a dozen within 20 miles of me, nearly all in small towns/villages.
