Is there anyway to get rid of these lines?

One of these days, I need to post some of my good pictures.. lol Anyway, I took this picture with my D3100 inside a church. I have since upgraded my equipment to better handle low-light situations, but I'm hoping to save this picture.

I have these lines going through my picture! Is there anyway to fix this in post? Any helpful hints would be appreciated.

That's odd. Do you know what it's caused from? I only looked real quick but your talking about the red (?) lines going horizontally across the frame? I actually only see the lines on one side of the frame. I don't have any suggestions to get rid of it besides maybe some cloning/healing tool but it would be tedious work and I don't know how great it would come out. Sorry I'm not much help!

I'm not sure what causes this. :\ I'm assuming its from me cranking up my ISO due to the low-light conditions, and then increasing the exposure after I pulled it off my camera and found it was still too dark for my liking.

Odd, I did notice the lines are closer together at the bottom and space farther apart near the top.

It kind of looks like the file was corrupted... Do you have a back-up?

I would say this is probably the case. What iso were you using and how underexposed was the original image?

ISO 1600 F/11 1/100 +0.3EV (My camera tends to underexpose). Here is the original (only thing done is convert from RAW to JPEG).

Hmm.. that exposure doesn't look too bad. I was expecting a super dark image at a higher iso.. I hate to say it, but you might have a messed up camera. Have you noticed this on any other images? If not, maybe it was a one time fluke, or just a corrupted file. I would do some tests if you can and see if you can replicate it. If you don't notice it again, I wouldn't worry about it, if you do notice it, i'd have it checked out.

As far as saving that image, I don't think you can... not without a ton of work anyway

This is not the only image. And, actually, I have another D3100 that did the same thing in lowlight shooting. In fact, the first time it happened I sent it into Nikon and they sent it back to me telling me it was fine and that there is nothing wrong with it.
I only notice it on images that are shot at 1600 or higher. I have shoot with a 2.8 24-70.

That's weird.. the 3100 isn't that old is it? That doesn't look 'fine' to me. Even my old d70, while it has more noise, doesn't do banding like that at high iso.

The 3100 isn't very old. My d5100 is the model that came out after it and my camera can handle high ISO's pretty well. I've even taken an almost black image and brought the exposure up and have never had an issue like that. Granted its a different camera but I think they are pretty similar.
