I absolutely love the effects.
Just a great manipulation of the image - and appropriate.
I wonder if the image would be more balanced if the main 'flower' were not so far in the corner?

This is very nice. I'm also curious how you got the effect. The image does look a little off balanced, maybe move the flower more towards the center like The Traveler suggested. An overall nice pic IMO.

It is some time ago I did play a bit with PS in B&W using channel mixer.
After checking the b&w box I moved the color sliders. After this I unchecked the b&w box and moved again the color sliders.
The unusual colors made the picture not "earthy" anymore so that's the relation to the title.

Normally I'd agree with cropping an image like this, but for some strange reason, it's working for me. My eye loops around the image with out going off-frame. It does get led away from the subject, but the weirdness seems to just go with the look of the image, and it does come back in a loop.
